ASU support for Los Angeles
If you are a student or family member who lost your school or home in the recent wildfires, we are here for you.
Support and resources for students considering ASU and those admitted to ASU for fall 2025
ASU’s Charter states that our university “... assumes fundamental responsibility for the economic, social, cultural and overall health of the communities it serves.” Supporting school communities affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles reflects this commitment. At ASU, we believe every student deserves access to a high quality education, no matter their circumstances.
We understand that many college-bound students and their parents may have questions and concerns about their educational plans. To support students, families and schools impacted by the devastating fires, ASU is proud to offer the following support to students in Los Angeles.
Additionally, ASU has heard from our applicants in the L.A. region who have had ACT/SAT tests cancelled, disruptions in internet service, and challenges regarding access to transcripts. Remember, the ASU admissions team will lift deadlines and application requirements that place an unnecessary burden on students and families. ASU does not require standardized tests for admission or consider test scores for scholarships.
ASU is prepared to customize solutions based on the individual needs of students and their families.

If you are a currently enrolled student impacted by the wildfires and anticipate that you will be unable to physically attend classes for the foreseeable future, we will work with you to change your schedule to include online courses so that you can take advantage of remote options.
We can also support you by switching your semester start to spring session B, which begins on March 17, 2025.
For any scheduling accommodations, please contact your advisor (contact information can be found on My ASU in the Academic Support Team box) or contact us directly at provost@asu.edu.
If you are impacted by the wildfires, please let your instructors know. We have encouraged your professors to be flexible with class requirements for students affected by the wildfires.
Prospective Students
We have informed prospective students and their families that accommodations will be made for upcoming priority dates and deadlines. We encourage them to work with their high school counselors or contact their assigned ASU admission team member for guidance.
